Senior Katie Flippo was released from Via Christi hospital Jan. 26. where she had been hospitalized because of a cheerleading accident while tumbling at the Maize vs. Lawrence Free State game in McPherson Jan. 22.
According to head cheerleading coach Lori Workman, Flippo was rushed to the McPherson Hospital emergency room before halftime.

Flippo stayed overnight at McPherson Hospital and was moved to Via Christi in Wichita the next day.
“She’s one of our senior leaders; she’s a big part of our cheers and especially dances,” Workman said. “Without her, we will have to redo everything.”

Flippo's injuries were a concussion and a broken bone in the corner of her eye.
