Among the teachers at Cameron High School, there are many that are very popular among staff and students. However, some just make an impression on your way of thinking. They make an impact in your life, and they put a smile on your face. For the past seven years, Mr. Scott Archibald has been one of those people. “I think you are crazy if you get into education and you don’t like kids. I love being around them, with them, and it’s all part of the job. I’m going to miss the school in general, but I will definitely miss the kids more than anything,” said Mr. Archibald.

Aside from being a vice-principal for all seven years, he was also the activities director for six of those years and took over part of the curriculum directing this year. He plays a vital part in keeping this school going where it needs to go. “I think it will be a loss to our district; he brought such stability to the school and has brought all the departments together at various times. He’s just a good guy overall,” said Science Teacher David Bishop.

Mr. Archibald can always be counted on to listen, advise, or even make someone laugh. “He is the type of person that is your boss, but you can also joke with him and he will joke right back. There’s no taking anything personally,” Mr. Bishop added.

Mr. Archibald is taking a position in Albany at the high school as the principal. He will be in charge of the whole building.”It’s going to be the same thing, just a different place. My role is simply changing,” said Mr. Archibald. Although everyone is happy for him, there are some sad thoughts throughout the building.

He has developed multiple close relationships with students at CHS and it will truly be a loss. “I’m sad and I will miss him. I’m happy that he got this new job, and I know he will do great,” Senior Brenna Lobb said.

Being somewhere for seven years can make you really grow attached to the people around you and Cameron High School will definitely not be the same with Mr. Archibald, but every one here wishes him luck. Don’t forget to stop by the office and give your goodbyes before the end of the year. From all of us at The Tank, goodbye and good luck, Mr. Archibald!
