The Interact club introduced a service project to help a local pregnancy center. They are filling baby bottles full of change to give to the Pregnancy Resource Center in St. Joesph, MO. The center helps people handle pregnancies whether planned or unplanned. They provide counseling and medical advice and medical services and try to prevent abortions and help mothers with parenting their children. Interact is collecting the money to help the center out in what ever way they can.

Interact’s main goal is collecting as much change as they can. Every Interact member was given a baby bottle and is expected to fill the baby bottle with change. The Resource Center receives help from many different schools and organizations. Interact Advisor Carmen Buller contacted the Resource Center to get started on collecting the baby bottles filled change. Interact members said collecting change for the Pregnancy Resource Center is important.

Interact President Molly Long said, “I think the service project is a wonderful idea, and it’s really important. Most of the kids getting help from the Pregnancy Resource Center are kids our age. The research center help student have a better understanding of teen pregnancies and all the things involved with it.”

“Helping an organization and helping families that can’t afford having a child is a great thing to do. I’m having fun collecting the change in the baby bottles. Choosing the pregnancy resource center in St. Joesph was a good idea, because it helps kids just out of high school or still in high school,” said Interact Member Kayla Groebe.

Interact Member Katelyn Burke said, “I agree with the others collecting the change is good for our community and the St. Joesph community. It’s giving students a better understanding of unplanned pregnancies. They help people having an unplanned pregnancy with making decisions and getting them things they need throughout their pregnancy.”

The Pregnancy Resource Center would like it if you could give any change you can spare. You can contact interact to collect any change at 816-632-2129. The national pregnancy hotline is 800-395-HELP. It is open to anyone in need of advice and help during or after pregnancy.
