Prices Spiraling Out of Control Tuesday, March 15, 2011 By Sophomore Dillan Klindt Gas prices are not the only things soaring through the roof. - Photo by Dillan Klindt Advertising As we all may know, gas prices are rising very high and at a very quick rate. But lately gas prices are not the only item that is rising fast. It seems that food prices and soda prices are also increasing in price as well. Times are hard, but they are about to get harder! Who lately has not noticed the sky high gas prices? They are rising super fast and causing problems for Americans all over the United States, especially young drivers. Sophomore Kelsey Mattox said, ”I think it is going to effect a lot of high school students. I think people will stop driving around and wasting their gas and I think we will start seeing more people riding their bikes.” In the next few months soda prices are expected to raise more than they already have causing soda to be a little over 2 dollars for 2 liters. Sophomore Brianna Manley said,” I think it is a positive thing because people will stop buying soda because it is bad for you. I also think it will have a positive effect on teens and their health.” The one thing that we need most to survive has also increased in price. Food prices are also expected to raise. For many people cutting back is the only option available for them and raising food prices could have a very negative outcome. Senior Brenna Branson said, “I think it is going bad especially for people that are already struggling with the prices how they are now, but I guess it is out of our control.” Who know what the future may hold in store?  Hopefully some lower gas, soda, and food prices...but for now start saving up!
