"Around the World in 8 Plays" is a Success! Tuesday, March 15, 2011 By Sophomore Hunter Yeager-Johnson [ArticleImageHyperLink] Advertising Around the World in 8 Plays went off without a hitch. March 3-5 the CHS Drama department put on 3 wonderful shows! All 3 shows had a great turnout. By the sound of the crowds, they seemed to enjoy the show quite a bit. For new actors and techies, the show was a great start! “I had fun,” said Freshman Nate Meister, “It was a lot of fun to meet new people and hang out with them! I never thought I would be doing something like this. I had loads of fun and can’t wait to keep doing it every year!” he added. The cast of Around the World in 8 Plays pulled the show off in 30 practices. Normally the cast has about 45-50 practices. Due to snow days earlier in the year, they lost those practices. It was very stressful and tiring for the cast and crew. In the end they pulled it off with 3 fantastic shows. The whole cast and crew had a cast party Friday night. For the seniors, this was their last show and cast party. “I enjoyed this play,” says Senior Rebekah Adamek “It was great to be with my friends and have fun and I am very sad to go!” Rebekah was in every show since her freshman year. “I’m leaving all my friends I have made behind I have made over the past years. It really stinks,” she added.   Even though this was the seniors last show, they sure are proud of how it turned out. The cast went into full gear to present this show! Despite the long hours and somewhat stressful days, they managed to pull it off quite well. During the shows they sold the Rags to Riches DVD’s and shirts, plus Around the World in 8 Plays shirts, posters, and little knick knacks. The kids enjoyed those, and the show!
