Sometimein life, it seems like the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel is far away. But sometimes it's very close, and for one teacher, she's come to the end of the tunnel. After 41 years of teaching, Mrs. Imogene Clark is graduating to retirement. Kindergartner Teacher Mrs. Clark has been teaching for 41 years, and although she is glad she is retiring she will miss the kids. She taught in Denver, CO for 10 years and the rest in Cameron. She has taught both at Goodrich and in Parkview, but she has always taught Kindergarten.

When you work along side a teacher for your entire career, you become very close to them. Kindergartner Teacher Mr. Don Harrison has had Mrs. Clark as a co-worker for his entire career. Mr. Harrison said, "What I'm really going about Mrs. Clark is her experience. She just has such a great attitude; every day she comes in and the kids just love it." Mr. Harrison taught along with Mrs. Clark in Goodrich and they still are today. Mr. Harrison offers advice to her replecement, "Just try something new. Stick with some old things, but mainly, just have fun with it and love what you do. And if you do, the rewards will be immense."

After for teaching that long, it just becomes a part of your life. Mrs. Clark has been teaching for 41 years and she loves every minute of it. Mrs. Clark said, "I am definently going to miss this, but I really am looking foward to retiring. I have been teaching for a lot of my life but it flew by."

Mrs. Clark looks forward to traveling, "My husband and are going traveling more. We are taking a trip to Hawaii first." She is going to really miss the kids. She also will miss her coworkers. "The teachers that were with me in Goodrich are part of my family in my eyes. I am close with most the other teachers, but the Kindergartner teachers have been through it all together."

Students remember good teachers and bad teachers. Senior Cody Poole said, "I remember being in Mrs. Clark's class in Goodrich and I had the P.M. session. Man, that [Kindergarten] was a long time ago. But the thing I really liked about her is she was always excited to be teaching us." Mrs. Clark was Cody's first teacher, and she is still one of his favorites. Cody said, "Being in her class was so much fun because we always did something different everyday." Cody is sad to see her go, but he hopes the best for Mrs. Clark.

When you choose to become a Kindergarten teacher, you have to love what you do because everyone knows they don't do it for money. And Mrs. Clark loved what she did with a passion. Mrs. Clark will be missed and her reputatuion will be hard to follow. On behalf of everyone who has ever been affected by her teaching and from The Tank, thank you for all your years of service
