Graduating from high school is an exciting for students and their parents. And for CHS seniors they are about to finish and never look back. Graduation is afoot and in CHS you can feel it from the countdown on the window to the overall excitement of graduating and being out of here. Some seniors plan to continue their education by going to college or vocational schools, other students plan on joining the work force right out of the gate, and others just plan on joining the military.

Trying to decide to go to college, the military, or join the workforce is easier to some and harder to others. Senior Dakoda Phillips said, "I plan on going to college at Missouri State and majoring statistics." Dakoda wants to go to college because he wants to have a better chance at getting a good job so he can make more money. He wants to be able to provide for his family. Dakoda said, "In 20 years, I see myself as being a statistician because I love numbers and they are really fun." Dakoda can not wait to graduate and he is ready for college.

Whether you're going to college or joining the workforce, advice can only help. CHS Guidance Counsler Mr. Ed Green said, "No matter what you are doing, but mostly for the kids who are working, you need to learn teamwork and be able to work together." Mr. Green thinks you need to work hard and try your best at everything you do. "If you are going to college, do your work well and go to class. It's a simple as that."

For some students, college isn't the way they want to go. Senior Kaleb Whiteaker is deciding to join the military. Kaleb said, "I am joining the United States Marine Corp because of the good money and the good benefits. I also am joining U.S.M.C. because it's a way to give back to my country." Kaleb looks forward to joining the Marines, "I don't want to be stuck in a crappy indoor job and hate my whole life." He plans to make a career out of it but he's going to go to college because the Marines will pay for it. "I want to have being in the Marines be my career, but I want to have a fall back job just in case something happens to me."

Whatever you do in life, do it the best you can and your life will be good. In life do what you need to do than do what you want to do. And for Seniors, they need to either do it or they will find themselves in a bad situation. So congratulations Class of 2010 from all of us at The Tank.
