Cameron High School will say goodbye to one of its Special Service Teacher, Mrs. Beverly Adams, after this school year. Mrs. Adams announced that she will retire to her home in Hamilton, Missouri, when the 2009-2010 school year is over.

Mrs. Adams has been working at Cameron High School for four years as a Special Services teacher, and has been teaching for nearly twenty-eight years. Mrs. Adams says, "I want to retire while I still enjoy kids," and is retiring to take care of her elderly parents.

Mrs. Adams' favorite part of her job as Special Service Teacher is working with her students. She says that she has always liked kids, and admits she will miss the kids when she is gone.

Mrs. Adams has enjoyed her time at Cameron High School because of the students and her coworkers and says, "I will miss the kids, but not the paper work."

Despite all the things she will miss, Mrs. Adams admits she is anxious to retire. Even though she won't be teaching regularly, she plans on substitute teaching and doing other small jobs that involve children. She also plans to do a lot of traveling after her retirement. While she may not know who will take her place, Mrs. Adams can tell that person, "take it one day at a time, and it will be just fine."

Mrs. Adams will miss her students, and says, "I hope they keep working hard and do well for whoever takes my place."

Mrs. Adams also says that her retirement may bother her students at first, as one student, Crystal Hosman, says, "I am sad to see Mrs. Adams go." However, Mrs. Adams also knows that her students will do well in the future.

Nonetheless, there's not looking back! "My fellow teachers are envious of my retirement, and so is my husband," Mrs. Adams jokes.

She is not taking early retirement, even though she has been teaching for just under thirty years. In the state of Missouri, Mrs. Adams is at an age where she can make a full retirement regardless.

The students, faculty, and staff at Cameron High School will miss Mrs. Adams, as her coworker Mrs. Teresa Fleshman said, "I am happy for her and sad for us." Mrs. Adams will miss her friends and students as well. But even though they will miss her, the people at CHS wish her the best after her retirement.
