In life, no matter how well you think things are going something always pops up and can ruin everything you have worked for. For one Cameron wrestler, sadly, this was the case.  On February 12,  two days before State wrestling, Sophomore Landon Ocker was trying to get ready and touch-up on some technique problems for State when he was taken down to the mat and came back up with a dislocated knee. The injury ruined his trip to State before it even started.

Landon said, "I stood up on him and he returned me to the mat and my knee hit wrong. I went to he hospital and found out I had dislocated my right knee and not only not be able to wrestle at State, but would have to be out of sports for 6 weeks." Landon still went with the state wrestling boys to support the team, but the alternate from another school took his place.

One of Landon's teammate, Junior Dakota Goll said, "It was hard to see him like that. He acted like everything was fine, but I would of been sad or angry with myself."

Landon didn't take the injury as a problem; he looked at it as a way to get better. "Yeah I wish I could of wrestled at State, but I can't go back and fix my knee so all I can do is wait and train even harder next year," he explained. Landon plays football in the fall, wrestles in the winter, and plays baseball in the spring, all of which helps Landon fight through these hard times.

Fellow wrestler Junior Garret Uthe says Landon is the kind of guy every team needs. "Landon is one of the guys that you love having on your team, but you hate when he is not because he never gives up, even when everybody else does. That's one thing that makes him a good wrestler," he explained.

Landon is a great wrestler. He works hard and is dedicated to what he loves to do. Sadly Landon's dreams were broken for this year when he dislocated his knee, but through it all Landon kept high spirits. He tried to look on the brighter side of things. Now Landon is ready to work even harder to make sure he gets the chance to go back to state next year. Just like a dislocated knee, the dream can always be fixed.
