Students Audition for All District Choir Wednesday, September 30, 2009 By Camron Ruckman [ArticleImageHyperLink] Advertising Students auditioned for All District Choir on October 24th. A long list of people auditioned but not everyone made it.  Among the people who made it were Juniors Pauline Santos, Erin Smith, and Seniors Tyler Tvrdy, Houston Jack, and Scott Walser. The other students who made it were Daniel Sloan, Ashtyn Clay, Adam Usher, and Zane Clark. There were five other people who made it to all district choir, but only juniors and seniors are able to try-out for all-state. Out of a total of fourteen people who tried out, ten people made it. "It is quite impressive that fourteen people signed up and all fourteen of them went," said choir Director Mr.VonGlahn. You have to be in a choir class to try-out for all state choir. In order to make All-State Choir, students need to prepare a contest level solo piece to sing and they also need to sight read, singing a piece that they have never seen before.  "An audition usually takes about 4-5 minutes," said Mr.VonGlahn, "All together the auditions took 30 minutes." State tryouts will be held on Oct. 24. Some of the people who made it to all district choir never tried out before. "I am very happy that I made it," said Freshman Adam Usher. This years choir is looking to be very good. It will be a lot harder to make it to all state because there are only two altos, two sapranos, four tenors, and 4 basses. Students will be competing against the best of their individual singing group in the state.
