When the beginning of the year came our new teachers were determined to have a great year. Now, after a long year of making up lessons, writing out tests, and dealing with about 100 kids each day our new teachers at CHS are ready for summer.

Science Teacher Mrs. Stebbins states, "I'm glad its summer, especially when summer school is over I'll be happy I have a break. This school year went by very fast and very well."

Though she was pleased, with how the year went, she admits there was one regret. "There isn't a lot, but I wanted to be able to get through more lessons than I did this year. For this being my first teaching experience at any school I didn't have many problems."

Math teacher, Mr. Jacobs explains, "This school year was pretty good and it went by pretty smooth. Before I taught here I taught at Marceline (which is past Chillicothe.) There aren't many things I want to change next year--just a couple like doing more activities in class, and next year I'm not going to allow Ipods."

While many of the new teachers don't see much changing, one is planning on re-working the entire class! Math Teacher Mrs. Greene says, "The school year went very quickly, but it went well. There is a lot of things that I want to change for next year; pretty much everything I did I want to change something like after the [End Of Course] (EOC) testing I want to cover more lessons than I did this year. For this being my first year of teaching I didn't have any problems--just the usual new teacher stuff. I am very excited for next year it's nice to have some breaks, like summer so I can spend time with my girls, but I'm ready for next year."

Most of our new teachers seem to agree school went very well and very fast for them. They have some things they are wanting to change and they are mostly ready to get into next year to see new faces in their classrooms and to do even better than they did this year. Even though they may be ready for next year, they have one thing in common with the students.  All of us are happy to have summer break!
