The Student Council has passed the torch to the next year's officers.Students are allowed to endorse themselves through an assembly or over the intercom. Their campaigns must include their name and the office they wish to run for. Those who do not participate in the election but wish to help are allowed to vote for the candidate of their choice. A StuCo runner must also meet the requirements set by the student council themselves.

A StuCO President has many responsibilites. They must plan and conduct all meetings and introduce all student concerns as well as rallies and assemblies. They are also responsible for representing the school at all events and are the student voice to the school administration. They are required to have a 3.0 GPA average per quarter without failing previous semester grades. The student should also have actively served on StuCo at least 1 previous term and never been dismissed from previous council positions. They must also be a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in the next academic year.

The Vice President has duties following the president. He/She is to assist the president at all times, help prepare the agenda for the year's meetings, and serve as chairperson for committees. A Vice Pesident must  have the required 3.0 GPA and actively served  on StuCo for at least 1 term. The person may also present a self-constructed  petition with 10 StuCo member signatures to the sponsors before running for office. As the president, they must become a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior for the next year.

Secretaries are responsible for maintaining all records belonging to the Student Council organization, type all agendas and minutes, make the necessary copies needed of reports, minutes, and agendas, write Thank You notes, and assist the Publicity Committee. The treasurer is to work with sponsors to maintain records, ensure money boxes are ready for events, organize all fund raising activities from the proposal to completion stage. Both offices must have the required 3.0 GPA and be a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior for next year.

" Running for a StuCo office is a great way for students to get involved and work for the student body," History Teacher/Student Council Co-Sponsor Mr. Andersen said. He and fellow sponsor Mrs. Stuedle are in charge of the Student Council.

"I'm excited to be President next year because I can support the students and represent them to the teachers and school administrators," said Junior Brittany Shawl.

"I think StuCo is a good experience because it gives you a chance to get involved in the school and make it a better place," Junior Tyler Tvrdy voiced. Tyler was elected as the next StuCo Vice President.

The student body has been passed into the leadership of good hands. The candidates are sure to make the students proud and the school a better atmosphere to be in, led by Brittany as President, Tyler as Vice President, Junior Travis Tvrdy as Treasurer, and Junior Kelly Thompson as Secretary.
