$0Next year is looking to be different at CHS. Fran Bears and Mrs. Wiss, who have together put in 40 years of service, will be retiring at the end of this year. Fran works in the kitchen and Mrs. Wiss has worked as a para professional with special needs children. Both have been great benefit to the CHS staff.$0$0 $0$0Fran Bears has worked in the kitchen of CHS since 1982. She has been making all the kids favoritescinnamon rolls, monster bars, brownies, amazing hot rolls, cookies, french fries ,andsalad preparations. Fran is a very hard working person.$0$0 $0$0Service Director Marla Rinne said, "Fran is the one who sets the work pace. I have never known her not to get the food out on time and good quality. When we have been asked to make desserts for other occasions, she has done it willingly." $0$0She has to do a lot of work to do. Marla went on to say, "When cookies are baked for a day, it is between 800-900.  Cinnamon roll days are a challenge, as there has to be time for the dough to rise and still get them sent to the Middle School by 9:30 (only 450 rolls). Hot roll day is another 800 rolls. These are not mixes, but from scratch." $0$0Ever since Fran has been here she has always been a great help. Cashier Ms. Utt said, "She is always busy, always working, and always doing something. She does a lot. Working with her is fun entertaining, and she's very knowledgeable." $0$0It is going to be very hard to replace a person like Fran. Ms. Hahn said, "It is going to tough to find someone to fill her shoes. I don't know anyone who can fill Fran's shoes," Mrs. Uttexplained. $0$0But according to Fran, the privilege has been hers. Fran has enjoyed her co-workers just as much as they enjoyed her. "This group [kitchen staff] is really nice. They are a lot of fun to work with, but I am very happy to retire," Fran said.  $0$0Fran is not the only one happy to retire though. $0$0Mrs. Wiss has worked at Cameron School District as a para professional for 14 years. She has more altruistic plans after she retires. Mrs. Wiss said, "I am going to apply to come back as a substitute as a para, and I am also going to volunteer at the Veteran's Home. Mostly though I think I am going to have more time to spend with my children and grandchildren." Ms. Wiss works in Ms. Steele's class, and helps with the special needs students. She has been great with them.$0$0"Mrs. Wiss has been a great para. She works great with the special needs students and is very patient with them. She has been a lot of help to me with the students and with clerical work that I have needed done. Mrs. Wiss always is willing to do anything asked of her and with a smile on her face," said Ms. Steele. $0$0"She will not be easy to replace as she was one of a kind. She was not only an excellent para, but a friend to me. The students and I will truly miss her!" Mrs. Wiss will miss them too, " Ms. Steele explained.$0$0Mrs. Wiss said, "I have mixed feelings. I am happy to retirbecause there are things I would like to do. I am going to miss the kids and coming to work every day. I am happy but yet sad."$0$0These women have touched the lives of those around them and will be missed greatly. These women are both hard working and have good hearts, which will be irreplaceable. Next year will not be the same with out them, but we wish them the best in their retirements and thank them for their many years of service. $0
