It's almost time for 8th graders to leave Cameron Middle School and time for seniors to leave Cameron High School. These young children became teenagers the last 4 years they've been at CMS, and the last 4 years at CHS our teenagers have became adults. It's hard to adjust to somewhere for four years and then just have to leave. It's not so much just leaving their school, it's pursuing their educational careers. CMS students are expanding their educational views to bigger and better horizons. CHS seniors are opening their educational horizons to harder and more important levels which will determine where they go in life.

8th Grader Georgia Drager said, "I'm so excited to leave CMS and go to CHS; I'm ready for a new set of teachers!"

CMS students may not know now, but CHS is a lot different than CMS. There's a variety of things that are very different. CHS sports are taken quite a bit more serious. Lunch is very different than CMS lunch. CHS students get their food themselves and they also have a choice of Ala Cart, which is where you can get cheese burgers, onion rings, hot ham and cheese sandwiches, french fries, chicken nuggets, etc.

8th Grader Colton Boyer said, "I'm definitely looking forward to going to CHS because you get to pick your classes and teachers give you more freedom."

At CHS teachers do give you more freedom then what they gave you at CMS but the teachers do expect the best out of you.

8th grader Georgia Drager said, "I don't think I'll miss very much from CMS. I'll be moving on with my friends, although I will miss Mr.Sanders and Mr.Albright a lot!"

8th Grader Colton Boyer said, "I'm ready for lunch at CHS. I've heard it's a million times better than our lunch at CMS! I'm ready for something new; I'm excited to get ready for college and to make good grades." Little does Colton know the CMS lunches are prepared at CHS and transported over each day.

Georgia said, "I would really like to do CHS golf and either cheerleading or dance team, I haven't really decided yet. I really want to do FFA as well. I'm also ready for a new variety of classes. I'm tired of the same thing every day. My goal in high school is to graduate!"

Graduation is held Sunday May 17th at the Dave Goodwin Football field. After that day, seniors will be moving on with their lives and studying or going into their career field.

Senior Kylie Parks said, "I'll be attending Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa. I'm really excited! I got a cheerleading scholarship."
There are tons of colleges CHS students could attend, applying for the right one's is the hardest though.

Senior A.J. Blackmon said, "I will be attending Missouri Western and I'm hoping to play golf for them if all goes well. I'm excited to leave CHS. Not so much about leaving all my friends, but to see where life takes me."

Kylie said, "I'm very excited to go to college and decide what I want to do with my life. Some goals of mine are to work hard in my studies and hopefully succeed in either Nursing or Elementary Education."

A.J. said, "A goal that I have for college is to graduate and go into the insurance field and play amateur golf on the side."

Kylie said, "I have a fear about living on my own away from the family. I'm sure I'll join clubs though to stay active. I'm going to try my hardest to keep my grades up until graduation and spend as much time with my family and friends as much as possible!"

Time is coming up soon for 8th graders to be going to a different school, and for seniors to be moving on with their lives! Good luck to everyone, whether you're a future CHS Dragon or a future CHS Alum!
