Northwest Missouri State University was in for a treat when Cameron High School's Jazz Choir sang with the Northwest Tower Choir Sunday, March 15. The concert was a huge hit and everyone enjoyed it, especially the Jazz Choir members. They were very happy they had this opportunity. The Jazz Choir members were really excited the week before they sang with Northwest's Tower Choir.

"I'm excited but nervous about it. I have never done anything like this before and it is my first year in Jazz Choir. We are performing in a lot bigger area and performing kind of scares me," said Freshman Taylor Bogle.

Not only were the first year Jazz Choir members excited about it, the Jazz Choir members who have been in the group before were also. "I'm very excited to sing with the Northwest Tower Choir. It is an honor to be chosen to go up there," said Senior Sarah Hall.

The Jazz Choir members weren't the only ones who thought it was an honor to sing with them. Choir Director Mr. von Glahn thought it was an honor to sing with them also. "It is an honor to sing with their Tower Choir because it ranges anywhere between 26 to 52 members. They will sing anything from 4-part to 12-part music. It is pretty difficult stuff. They are the best of the best in Northwest. All the college students who want to be in it have to go through two rounds of auditions. We are getting another opportunity to listen to them and showcase what we do," said Mr. von Glahn. The Northwest Tower Choir performed at the Goodrich auditorium three years ago. The students who were a part of Jazz Choir back then had the opportunity to sing one song with them.

The Jazz Choir didn't cease to amaze the audience at Northwest. They put on a great performance and walked away with a lot more experience to teach the other students who aren't in Jazz Choir. They hope the future Jazz Choir members have the opportunity to sing with a great choir like Northwest Missouri State University's Tower Choir, even if it is just one song.
