Imagine not being able to escape your parents. It seems like you see them everywhere. The only time you feel like you can escape them is at school. For some students at Cameron High School, they can't escape their parents at school because their parents work at CHS.

Freshman Chelsea Gerber's dad not only works at the high school, he's the principal of the high school. "It's weird because he's everywhere," said Chelsea.

There are good things that come out of him being everywhere. "I can talk to him whenever I need him," explained Chelsea.

Chelsea's mom works at the middle school teaching seventh-grade math. Chelsea said having her mom as a teacher was fun. "I liked having my mom as a seventh grade teacher more than my dad as the high school principal." Chelsea explained she wouldn't want to be a high school principal because she wouldn't want to deal with high school kids.

For Freshman Kirby Stuedle, like Chelsea, one of her parents works at the school. Kirby's mom works as the high school FACS Teacher. Kirby even has her as a teacher for one of her classes! Kirby says it's not weird having her in the same building and they even acknowledge each other in the hallway once in awhile.

Kirby explained one of the advantages of having your mom work in the same building is that if you forget to get something signed, you can get it signed before it is due. Having your mom in the same building can also have its disadvantages too though. "Sometimes it's embarassing," said Kirby.

Although it's not the same as having a parent work at the school, having an aunt or uncle at the school can be weird too.

This is the case for Freshman Leslie Hutton. Her aunt is the Language Arts I Teacher at the high school and also teaches eighth-grade language at the middle school. Leslie says it doesn't usually bother her, except occasionally.

"Some people call me Mrs.Hutton and ask what we did in class. That can get annoying," explained Leslie.

As a teenager especially, parents can be embarrassing and they can be annoying. It seems like they're always trying to ruin your life. Next time you are embarrassed or annoyed by a parents, think about how it would be if they worked at your school and seemed to be everywhere, like for some CHS students.
