Sixteen year olds, are you ready to get your license? Make sure you have had a lot of experience with driving and make sure you know all the rules of the road in order to become king/queen of the road Getting your license is not a peice of cake ya know! Make sure you are comfortable with the car that you are going to be driving when you try for your license. Just remember that you are in control of the car,  so be careful.

Students have heard the advice for the last couple years, but they are more concerned about getting out on the road! Sophomore Kelly Puckett said, "I got my license not that long ago. It was one of the best days of my life! I felt like a whole bunch of freedom just got given to me."

Nothing beats the feeling of having some control of your own life, and most students agree it's a once in a lifetime event. Sophomore Kerry O'connor said, "I just got my license about a week ago. I was so exstatic when I found out that I had passed!"

The sense of accomplishment might be the best part for many students. Sophomore Maddie Bonder said, " I was really excited when I got my license. I was like all smiles for three days!"

Now that many sophomores have received their licenses and feel the pride in the accomplishment, they have advice for future drivers. Sophomore Jesse Bailey said, "I was so confident in myself and, of course, proud of myself when I got my license. Some advice that I would like to give to some teens that will be getting their licenses soon is to just mainly be careful and use common sense and ALWAYS wear your seat belt."

Kerry agrees. "Some advice that I want to give to teenagers that will be driving soon is to make sure you always know what gear you are in and always use your blinkers."

Kelly says young drivers should need to remember their focus while driving. "Some great advice would have to be just don't mess around while you are in control of the car. You could not only be endangering your life, but the people's that are in the car as well. You are responsible for them. Anything could happen at any time," Kelly warned.

Driving is a big deal and a great accomplishment, but it can be very dangerous so always buckle up and be safe!
