Cameron High School's Choir and Jazz Choir are performing their Winter Choir Concert at Goodrich on Sunday, December 14, 2008 at 2 p.m. It will consist of the Women's Choir, the Men's Choir, Jazz Choir, and Mixed Choir. They hope they will do a great job singing Christmas songs everyone knows. Choir members are very excited to perform, but they don't feel ready for it.

"I don't think we are ready for the concert. We haven't had much practice, and we haven't had much time to remember the songs, but I'm still very excited for the concert. I'm not excited to sing Fum, Fum, Fum though," said Junior Rachelle Bragg. Fum, Fum, Fum is one of the many Christmas songs the choir members are going to sing, but it's written in Spanish.

Rachelle may not feel ready, but Choir Director Mr. von Glahn thinks they are almost ready to perform.

"The students are doing extremely well. It is always hard when you put two performances within a month of each other so having about two weeks after coming back from Thanksgiving break just to polish everything and get it performance-ready creates a very interesting time, but the students are working extremely hard and doing very well. They are well on their way to being performance-ready by the time they need to be," said Mr. von Glahn.

Freshman Megan Godby agreed with Mr. von Glahn. "I think we are almost ready. There are still a couple of songs we need to work out," said Megan. The choir members will be singing many songs, which include the songs Christmas Lullaby, Ose Shalom, O Holy Night, and many more. Even though they are singing all the songs well, the choir members still have their favorite songs to sing.

"The Christmas Song is my favorite song. I really like it," said Megan. Rachelle agreed with Megan.

Even though they will have to sing more than just their favorite song, the choir members enjoy the feelings you get before a concert.
"I like the excited, nervous feeling you get from singing in front of a crowd," said Rachelle. On December 14, all of the Choir members will be feeling the way Rachelle feels every time she gets in front of a crowd.

Since the Choir members have enjoyed getting ready for the concert, they hope the audience members will see that enjoyment on their faces. They always do a great job singing at all of their concerts and they hope they will do just as great at their Winter Choir Concert. They will certainly try to work hard because they love pleasing their audiences.
