Cameron High school offers two different foreign language classes--French and Spanish. While both languages differ greatly, they both have one thing in common and that's known as Foreign Language Club(FLC). With 78 students from both French and Spanish, this club allows students to broaden their horizon of tastes by taking them to foreign restaurants and allowing them to eat the various types of foods. The types of food vary from raw eel to es cargo.

Last year there were several students who participated thoroughly in the dinners and almost went to every trip, but this year there are 17 "newbies" to the FLC experience. There are 19 seniors, 17 juniors, and 25 sophomores who make up the "experienced" FLC members.

Senior Seth Anderson has been involved in FLC for three years and is considered to be very involved with the dinners. Seth says he has attended a lot of dinners, though he's not sure of the exact number. He also says that the dinner prices are fair because they get a "good amount" of food. Seth said there is no food that he will not try and he "will try everything once," but when he dines at Kato's Sushi Bar he said the eel is his favorite entree to eat.

On the other hand, Junior Amanda Lakey, currently enrolled in French, has been involved in FLC for two years and has been to four dinners. She said, "I will not try anything with raw beef in it, like at the German restraunt," but admit her favorite restaurant is Kato's Sushi Bar which is known for raw fish!

Freshmen Jacquie Weirich is enrolled in her first year of French and FLC. She said, "I'm ready for the Greek restaurant, because I'll get to throw down plates and break them." Don't worry, this is part of the Greek tradition!

If you are not currently enrolled in a a foreign language club and you are looking for a good time and to try new foods you should think about

joining either French 1 or Spanish 1 next year. Don't miss out on this great fun and not to mention you will get you will get a new cultural experience!

CHS students looking for some culture and a full belly should look into Foreign Language Club where you'll find both!
