According to the Huffington Post, there is a new application offered to iPhone users called Tiger Text. This application allows the subscriber to set when their text messages will be deleted in both the person who received the text message's account and that of the person who sent the text message.

Unlike a regular text message, even after a text message has been deleted the text still can be found in the bill summary each month. Now, all traces of text messages will be gone.

After the message is set to be deleted and sent, tiger paw prints appear on the screen to inform the person the application is in effect. That’s where the application gets its name from. The application eliminates documented text messaging conversations that could be possibly used in the future as evidence. By destroying the trace of the text messages, misinterpretations or what someone might have meant can be avoided.

The creator, Jeffrey Evans, informed Time Magazine as quoted in an NPR blog, “People text like they talk, and some of the things they say, taken out of context, can come back to haunt them.” Tiger Text is ensuring people have more privacy in any way they may choose.

Tiger Text can be also used on iPod Touch. iPhone users can use the Tiger Text for 100 free messages for the period of 15 days then they must pay to continue the service.
