Does drama rule your life? Of course it does, you’re in high school. When are you not fighting with your best friend, thinking your boyfriend is cheating on you, or finding out that someone has been talking smack behind your back? Even a minor argument between you and your friend about liking the same guy at school can turn into an all out war. Face it, people our age are prone to episodes of ridiculous and absurd forms of drama.

Even the slightest misunderstanding or disagreement can become serious, and although you may tell yourself you don’t want drama in your life, something happens that devastates you. The conflict may not even be with you, you could be obsessing about someone else’s drama. For example, you may hear about that cute new couple of two months having an unfortunate breakup, or that the two girls who seemed to be best friends are fighting because one thought the other kissed her boyfriend. Whatever it is, 99.9% of the time, it turns out to be something simple.

However, the fact that most cases are usually rather trivial at times never seems to stop us from taking extreme measures to achieve it drama. It must be a craving that kids have nowadays, a fix they always have to satisfy. Though an addiction to drama is definitely not as harmful as other addictions like drugs or alcohol, it has similar tendencies. Drama can lead to dysfunctional relationships and along with that you know comes the lying, the yelling, the screaming, all the breakups and makeups, and of course, the occasional fights at three AM.

If life with drama is normal for you, or you cannot imagine life without it, you may need to re-evaluate some of your interests and priorities. You may discover that a less dramatic life is much more exciting.
