For years, the video gaming industry has been booming and introducing new games and consoles every few months. One of the bigger gaming trends capturing attention is the debate between Rock Band and Guitar Hero.

Rock Band is a game where four people take on different roles that a real band would offer. There are positions such as the lead singer, bassist, guitarist, or drummer. As a band, you can play different songs on different difficulty levels, tour, and earn virtual money. However, you don’t have to play as a group; you can also have a solo career.

When playing Guitar Hero, it’s just you and the plastic guitar, with much of the same options as Rock Band. Though Guitar Hero was introduced first, Rock Band has presented a lot of competition. Recently, Activision Publishing Inc. has introduced Guitar Hero World Tour which has the same accoutrements as Rock Band, with the Guitar Hero name.

Though both of these systems offer a lot of fun and interactivity, not everyone likes both games. In a poll, 70% of the population prefers Rock Band for the fact that they have more interaction with their friends. This is compared to a mere 30% that enjoys the classics of Guitar Hero.

No matter which game you prefer, it’s always great to have a good time with your friends and just have fun. And, above all: ROCK OUT!
