Ahh, a Saturday night in Cherry Hill and what is there to do? There is shopping for 200-dollar jeans at Smith Brothers, driving illegally with more than one person in the car or the most fun activity of all, clubbing. But, why go to a club in Philadelphia when there is one right down the street in Holly Ravine? Its name is Club Wawa.

Club Wawa has become the new hotspot for teens in Cherry Hill on account of its fun times and convenient location.

"There’s nothing better to do on the weekend than going to Club Wawa. It’s so much fun and the cover charge is only five dollars," said Tracey Mohamed (’05).

The criteria for entry into Club Wawa are simply that each person must be a Cherry Hill East junior or senior with their driver’s license, and, of course, they must have a hot ride.

Otherwise, if a student does not meet these requirements, he or she will be tossed into a dumpster by Club Wawa’s bouncer Joe Breeza.

"It’s just not fair," said Mike Pepper ('07). "Just because I’m not a junior I have to stay home on Saturday nights and miss all the fun. Who made up those rules anyway?"

Sadly for freshmen and sophomores, the fun does not stop there. There is a celebrity DJ every Saturday night in the Club Wawa parking lot. Past acts have included DJ Scribble, DJ Clue and even the Backstreet Boys.

There have also been reported instances of substance abuse at Club Wawa, including excessive slurpee drinking, tasty cake overdoses and shortie hoagie binges.

There are some new and exciting changes in the works for Club Wawa.

"I plan on adding a giant disco ball, a new dance floor, a smoothie stand and a karaoke machine," said Jamal Roberts, manager of the Holly Ravine Wawa. "That’ll make Club Wawa just too cool for school. Also, November 20th is 'Bring Your Mom to Club Wawa Night.' It’s all going to be super fun."

Club Wawa has become so popular that it has put the competition to shame. On a Saturday night, a usually full Starbucks is now empty.

"That Club Wawa is going to put me out of business," said Dean DeLuca, the Shorthills Starbucks Manager. "Wouldn’t students rather come to sip lattés than party by the produce?"

Unfortunately for Starbucks, students are done with coffee and have moved on to Wawa specially brewed iced teas and fruit juices. Those infamous Wawa jugs have been spotted all over town.

The Club Wawa legacy continues to live on. It is so popular that East graduates still come back to party.

"Even though I’m in college, I still come back to party at Club Wawa. It was so cool when I was in high school, that I would rather go there than any parties at Princeton. And, all of the new DJs make it an even hotter spot to party," said Lou Zerre (‘03).

Cherry Hill is lucky to have such a fun place to go on Saturday nights. By the looks of it, Club Wawa will live on forever. It’s definitely the place to be.
