After competing at state, Business Professionals of America will now be sending five of its members to compete at the national level.

Nationals will be held from April 28 until May 2 in Cincinnati, Ohio. The students attending will be Anthony Valesano, Mike Bohn, Nick Petro, Aaron Spolarich, and BPA State Officer, Ben Labas.

“In order to go to Nationals, you need to win at state,” club sponsor Mrs. Kathy Rosinski said. “You need to place in at least third or fifth place, depending on the event.”

The students attending Nationals will be spending the next several weeks preparing for the upcoming competition.

“The boys have been studying their resources and taking practice tests,” Rosinski said.

Every event at the competition will be judged in a different manner, but since all the members going to Nationals are in similar categories, they will all be judged in almost the same way.

“All of them are in computer related contests where they have to use software correctly,” Rosinski said. “Then they turn in a final product [to the judges].”

This will not be the first time BPA will be attending Nationals, but more members will be competing this year than most years past.

“We’ve been fortunate enough to go every year,” Rosinski said.
