I was shocked and surprised to find an article on page six of issue two about Samhein. I am Wiccan myself and celebrate this holiday.

As your source said, “Paganism is very misunderstood,” I agree with that statement. Actually Wiccans don’t believe in a ‘devil,’ they have gods with personalities pertaining to nature and humanity.

Wiccans celebrate Samhein as the harvesting of foods cultivated over the summer. I’d also like to clarify that Wiccans all take part in their religion differently, but we do have boundaries.

We do not have animal or human sacrifices, we follow Wiccan law that states, “what ye send forth comes back to thee, so ever mind the rule of three.” This means that whatever you send out, positive or negative, comes back to you threefold.

I understand the misunderstandings concerning my religion. I know I cannot speak for Satanism, because I never heard anything true of it, only horror stories.

Wicca is a peaceful and respectful religion and the only negative thing associated toward Wicca are the misinformed opinions of negative ones.

I understand each person has a right to an opinion, but I would greatly appreciate more information be given to the students. I’d also like to see more on both sides.
