A touch of green has been added to Lake Central’s traditional blue and white.

Taking care of the environment has become a hot topic in society today. Presidential hopefuls have discussed it, potential voters will consider it. Even America’s Next Top Model has shown its underlying shades of green during the ninth cycle of the show.

The environment has taken the stage for much-needed attention in a day and age where daily practices cause great harm to its upkeep.

Students are adopting the green-lifestyle as a way of helping the environment and saving money when the once-mighty American dollar has lost its value.

Students are more conservation-savvy today than yesterday. Cutting water usage, recycling plastics and saving electricity are a few general methods that students practice every day. But the efforts don’t stop there. They can’t stop there.

Scout is taking a stand against the daily practices that harm the environment.

This special edition is dedicated to educating and promoting the greener practices of today in hopes of saving our world for future generations tomorrow.
