This year, Bits and Pieces will fill readers in on what’s going on in the entertainment world. Some things happening in the coming week include:

Movies: New movies opening this week include a remake of the political classic All the King’s Men, the gross-out comedy Jackass: Number Two, WWI drama Flyboys, and Jet Li’s supposedly final martial arts epic, Fearless.

DVD: DVDs set for release on Sept. 26 include the romantic drama The Lake House, the family film Curious George, racing flick The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, the third season of the WB drama One Tree Hill, and the very first DVD release of ABC’s Whose Line Is It Anyway?

TV: Animated classic The Simpsons has recently entered its 18th season on Fox. It is accompanied on Sunday nights by hit comedies Family Guy, American Dad!, and The War At Home. Other shows returning to Fox include the medical drama House and the action thriller Prison Break.

Music: On Sept. 26, late former-Beatle George Harrison’s 1973 album Living in the Material World will be released in a limited collector’s edition. It will include the CD, a DVD and a 40-page booklet. Other release include 20 Y.O. by Janet Jackson, Release Therapy by Ludacris, Live at Fenway Park, Boston MA by Dave Matthews Band, and Straight Outta Lynwood by funny man “Weird Al” Yankovic.

Concerts: The band Cutaway Blue will be performing on Oct. 6 at The Sanctuary in Crown Point. They will be accompanied by the bands Hit the Lights and Asteria. More information is available ay www.myspace.com/cutawayblue.

Look for more of these periodically throughout the year!
