Tony Ray defeated Cory Smith to win the first ever "Madden Bowl" championship, Thursday, March 10, after school. He defeated his opponents by a combined score of 254-105, playing with the New England Patriots. Smith earned second with the Minnesota Vikings, and tying for third was Mark Zinn, who used the Philadelphia Eagles, and Morgan Perry, who used the Kansas City Chiefs.

The tournament featured many kinds of games, with some turning into nail biters, while other games were over before halftime. For example, the biggest blowout was Cory Smith’s dismantling of Johnnathan Saunders by a score of 214-13. The closest game was Orrin Staggers’s three point win over Nick Amtower, 36-33, in overtime.
