The Keyser High School science department held their science fair December 15.

Normally the science fair would include students from Frankfort High, but according to the coordinator of the fair, Mrs. Herndon, the FHS students were not brought to KHS due to lack of room.

The fair took place during the first half of the day, with students being judged in a number of categories which included the following: Behavioral and Social Science, Biochemistry, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth and Space Science, Engineering, Environmental Science, Mathematics, Medicine and Health, Microbiology, Physics, and Zoology.

The grand prize winners for the fair were, third place, Brett Harshbarger, with his project “The Eastern Continental Divide and Stream pH Levels,” second place, Hillary Long with her project “Double Color,” and winning first place was Gina Corley with her project “Comparing Specific Heat and Viscosity: Candles Year V.”

The students who will be moving on the county fair in February are: Ian Heare, Kiersten Fazenbaker, Keaira Thomas, Gina Corley, Charles Bright, Jennie Clark, Stefannie Feaster, David Michael, Lindsey Sutherland, Susan Reed, Juliana Gustafson, Nikki Cannon, Hillary Long, Mark Elliott, Adam Rotruck, and Brett Harshbarger.
