Hailing from the small town of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Kaci Brown, at only 17-years-old, released her debut album “ Instigator”. Kaci Brown’s music style consists of big sweeping ballads to soulful pop, showcasing her impressive vocal range.

“ At first I was like, ‘I’m from Texas, I yodel!’ said Kaci, “ But Country music is very structured with verse-chorus-verse, and I liked experimenting.” With the help of her producer and co-writer Toby Gad, she created an album that is different to that of her Texan roots.

“ I was a country girl from the South,” said Kaci, but her musical tastes quickly became more diverse, as she was exposed to jazz, big band, R&B and, pop. Kaci credits Celine Dion as being one of the artists that inspired her, “ I saw Celine Dion when I was 7 years old and she was so amazing and inspiring!”

So at the tender age of 10, Kaci won the title of “ Little Miss Texas” and performed every weekend at venues throughout the state. Later she would move to Nashville, where she became the youngest artist to land a publishing deal at just 13 years old. Kaci can play both the piano and guitar by ear, as well as write her own songs. She began the songwriting process with some of the best on Nashville’s Music Row, and encouraged her to embrace different genres and to mix up her sound.

The first single off her album “ Unbelievable” showcases Kaci’s emotionally charged vocals and passion for music, “ I don’t think I chose music I think it chose me” said Kaci. Her album includes not only ballads but also mellow songs like “ Cadillac Hotel” as well as “ You Fool”, which are delivered in a natural soothing-sound. Besides her ballads the album also contains catchy beats, guest rappers VA Slim and El Fudge, and sassy lyrics. “ All girls like to have fun, and know they’re looked at and that doesn’t mean that they’re too risqué and going to get into trouble.”

For the most part, Kaci is a good singer and has variety in her music. She is able to go from really slow ballads to fast beat songs that will get you dancing. Her songs have good rhythm and catchy lyrics. Kaci's album "Instigator" is a fun to listen CD. It is obvious the immense passion Kaci has for singing, and the bright future ahead of her because her voice makes her different from artists out there that are her same age.
