At the beginning of the school year, there was something new in the hall across the North Campus library. The wall looked beautiful. What is it? Every one stops and looks at it.

There are two beautiful big pictures made of little student pictures. South Division students and Arrowhead students made these two great picture collages. One of them was designed by Arrowhead and the other was by South Division. There are more than 12,000 pictures of current students pictured in each mural. All those small pictures form one complete big picture called “Living Union,” and the other one is called “We the People Living the Dream.” They both describe how people should work and live together in peace, and respect others that have tried to make a good society work.

Living the dream does not give you the option to quit. When you consider what Dr. King endured, quitting keeps you from assuming responsibility for your own freedoms; giving up on the dream robs you of your future and denies freedom to the neighborhoods and nation in which we live. Living the dream means working to understand and appreciate the differences in others.

Some plaques are coming, which tell the story how Arrowhead and South Division students worked together in different projects and have a very good school exchange program.
