This year Arrowhead opted out of having a homecoming court. The school board has not been happy with the outcome of court because students have been turning it into a joke or malicious act.

           
Senior Lauren Blickle said, “I don’t want them to get rid of court. It’s a tradition that goes way back and one of our privileges as a senior.”

This summer, the Senate Executive Board had a meeting to start planning Homecoming and one of the topics they went over was court. Senate took a vote and decided to cancel it.

           
Senior Emily Bird said, “I think that it's a good change because it really does turn into a joke and people get voted on with mean intentions. Plus, no one likes when we have to stop dancing to watch homecoming court get their flowers and get crowned. I don't think that many people will have a big problem with court going away because no one votes or pays much attention.“

People have won with merely eight votes. In the past, students voted for, have declined being a part of court.
