“I come across a lot of people who are opportunists and they’re like, ‘If it happens, it happens.’ I’m not one of those. I’m a go getter,” says Keri Hilson about the way she lives her life.

Keri Hilson grew up in Atlanta and was recognized after performing in school plays and winning talent shows all around the city. She started putting together her own songs at age 12. At 18 she began working in recording studios around Atlanta and was soon recognized by producer Polow da Don. Keri was determined to work with Timbaland and Polow soon had them in a face to face meeting. Polow and Timbaland worked together to produce her highly anticipated debut album “In a Perfect World.”

The album is everything it promises. The songs are all about relationships, reality, and love all the things girl teenagers love to hear. Heartbreak, love, failure, and success are all part of life which is the point she is trying to get across to young ones. Her songs represent more than pop music it represents all of her emotions. Some of the highlights of the CD are: her song with Lil’ Wayne, Timbaland, Ne-Yo and Kanye West.

My personal favorite is “Turnin Me On” which features Lil’ Wayne. It is an upbeat song with a perfect mix of a girl and a guy singing together. Keri hilson has a very pure voice and she isn’t trying to hit any notes that she can’t. She knows her strengths and her music shows that. Keri definitely came onto the scene with a big hit. She already has songs on top countdowns and has worked with some great musicians to create a great debut album.
