On March 3rd, 2007, internationally renowned mega-music star Jay-Z came to Milwaukee to perform for fans. Hartland, WI native Larry Baldenwhite was present throughout the entire performance.

At approximately 9:07 P.M., Jay-Z broke into his hit, “Brush Your Shoulder Off.” During the performance, Jay-Z instructed spectators to, “Put your hands in the air, and wave them like you just don’t care.” Baldenwhite claims to just have been obeying orders by Jay-Z but authorities have determined that Baldenwhite was acting on his own discretion. When asked to defend himself, Baldenwhite said: “I didn’t care if my hands were in the air or not. I was kinda either/or on the topic.”

Other concertgoers around Baldenwhite stated that he seemed “into the music way too much” and “…dude’s hands were totally in the air on purpose.” When security guards came to remove him from the concert hall, Baldenwhite thrashed at them and made his best effort to keep his hands in the air.

Onlookers all agreed that Baldenwhite had intentionally placed his arms above his head, began to wave them from side to side, and continued this act until the concert security arrived. It is reported but not confirmed that while being escorted out of the hall, that he dropped it like it was hot, all the way out to the parking lot where he proceeded to brush his shoulder.
