Lies. Deception. A witch hunt—literally. All can be seen in Arrowhead’s very own production of Arthur Miller’s ‘The Crucible.’

Set in the late 1600s in Salem, Massachusetts, a group of girls led by Abigail Williams begin falsely accusing people of witchcraft. In Puritan Salem, witchcraft was punishable by death. Trapped in Abigail’s web of accusations are John and Elizabeth Proctor. As the accusations continue to amount, the town begins to panic until the Witch Trials reach their conclusion.

As director Maralynn Markano states, “It’s a fictionalized version of the Salem Witch Trials. A group of teenage girls begin accusing people in the town of being witches. Hysteria overtakes the town as people join in and others try to find justice.”

‘The Crucible’ features senior Amy Schmidt as Abigail Williams and junior Eric Lackey as John Proctor as well as other phenomenal actors. Of the cast, Markano says, “[They’re] amazing. They’ve been perfectly cast. They’re naturally talented. They put forth 100% at rehearsal. They’re a joy to work with.”

Also included in the cast are Tiernan Meyer as Elizabeth Proctor, Alex W ank as Reverend Hale, Billy Balistreri as Reverend Parris, Stephanie Kurtz as Ann Putnam, Andy Schultz as Thomas Putnam, Sam Collura as Giles Cory, Tyler Stanley as Francis Nurse, Bear Bauer as Judge Danforth, Anjali Misra as Tituba, Amanda Brewer as Betty Parris, Josh Hughes as Judge Hathorne, RJ Connely as Ezekiel Cheever, and many more.

Don’t miss a gripping play that demonstrates drama at its best! ‘The Crucible’ runs February 22, 23, and 24 at 7:00 P.M. each night in the North Campus theatre. Tickets will be $5 for general admission and go on sale at lunch on February 12.
