Have you ever been reward for being the star of the week or other honors? Or even for your birthday? Well, at Valley Elementary, they have a morning program every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. They always start this program with the pledge of allegiance. This is important because the children need to learn and grow up with pride for their country and for all of those who help strive for our freedom

This program promotes good character and making good decisions. When the students do well in school or show good character they are awarded Star of the week. This means that they were the chosen one the week who showed good traits throughout that week in school. This is a real honor to get because it shows the other students that they also do this good. This also makes the students who get star of the week role models, so others can become stars of the weeks.

This makes the students feel good about what they do and make them make better choices more often. The students can also get awarded for other achievements, such as behavior and helping others. They all get recognized for good things throughout the year.

This is the first year that the Valley Elementary school turned into a primary school. Now that there is kindergarten through second grade, this is very helpful and the students have got used to the new set up.
