Usually however, people hear the word marching band, they tend to think of a small group marching in a holiday parade. But marching band is much more then just marching and playing music. It’s about teaching the students about discipline and how to become successful marchers. It’s also about teaching its members how to work hard to succeed in achieving their goals, says Mrs. Balter, the Marcus Whitman marching band instructor for the past ten years.
   This year’s marching band consists of sixty two members. The marching band will have their first show on May 28th, at Darien Lake. They will also have a pageant June 3rd and 4th, its free admission and open to all who want to come. So come on down and support the Marcus Whitman marching band! Good Luck marching band!
