Boys’ wrestling coach Wagner has coached every sport from football to baseball and says that wrestling, by far, is the toughest. From training to competing, these guys work harder than any other team there is. Tyler Brahm has played football since he was in __ grade, and this being his first year in wrestling, he 100% agrees with Coach Wagner. Brahm says that six minutes on the mat is tougher than two whole football games.

When the guys aren’t on the mat, they are constantly running, lifting; workingworkingworking. You really need to "push yourself to the limits" if you want to succeed in wrestling. You need "more stamina than strength," Brahm says. The coach’s favorite saying; "If this sport were easy, the room would be full."

Coach Wagner says that this year is a good season for wrestling. A big variety in ages and experience is making the game very interesting. They have modified athletes jumping into varsity, as well as Evander Russ and Tyler Brahm having a successful season. Usually, according to Coach Wagner, it takes a couple years in order to really get good at wrestling, but for the two new seniors, that isn’t the case. These two new seniors have been off to a great start. Both have been active on the football field and in the weight room. You wouldn’t have to look at these guys twice to know they’d own on the mat.

Our school has four teammates in champion seats: Josh Spina, Jake Judd, Evander Russ, and Dakota Robarge. They’ve earned it with their excellent strength and athleticism, Robarge especially. He’s our lead match winner, being our ringer with a record of 32-2.

After competing in the sectionals, five of our boys will go on to the super sectionals, and from then we will be representing our entire state, provided that we are met with great success in the super sectionals. Hopefully, our men will conquer all!
