It seems that with recent films such as Twilight and New Moon, the vampire genre is dying and becoming a big joke compared to what it once was. Vampire films were one of class, suspense, violence and of a gothic literature mentality, not where their skin shines like diamonds when they hit the sunlight. If you miss the good old days of vampire films and want to recapture the awesomeness that was the vampire genre, check out From Dusk Till Dawn. Robert Rodriguez’s crime thriller/vampire film is a fun, exciting, violent and gory film that is like two movies in one. The first half plays out more like a crime thriller as the Gecko brothers, played by George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino, take a man and his two kids hostage as they try to get across the border into Mexico because they are wanted and being hunted by the F.B.I. and the Texas law enforcement. When they get across the border, they stop at a bar to wait for some colleagues of theirs, but they picked the wrong bar. Soon after arrival, the Gecko brothers and their hostages encounter bloodthirsty vampires, and with the help of two other guys who survive the first attack they prepare to fight for their lives in one of the best vampire movies in the past thirty years.

From Dusk Till Dawn’s screenplay is written by Quentin Tarantino, who also co-stars in it as one of the Gecko brothers, opposite George Clooney. It is directed by Robert Rodriguez, who is famous for directing Desperado, Sin City and the Spy Kids franchise. The rest of the cast includes George Clooney, Harvey Keitel, Juliette Lewis, Tom Savini, and Fred Williamson.

is a fun and exciting film that will please all fans of the vampire genre and will be a nice reminder to fans that there are good vampire movies and no matter how hard they try, the Twilight series will not win in their attempt to ruin the vampire mythology.
