After the end of their 2005 world tour, the rebellious trio is deciding to spend the majority of 2006 recuperating from a long but fun year at the top of the charts. According to Armstrong in an interview for NME, the band will "take their time” before making a follow-up to American Idiot: "We'll probably start writing after the first of the year and then just regroup. We've gotta take our time — this year was such a big year for us. I think it's a good time to regroup and have good substance to write about instead of hopping into something really fast.”

The controversial band just ended their tour, once again standing proud at the top of the charts. As Armstrong stated above, the band is going to take their time with their next album, as to keep the anticipation of the country on edge. Not to mention the necessary rest.

“I love Green Day. Their last 3 albums were by far their best, so I’m really looking forward to their next album.,” said Braxton Beard, junior. “But I think that people are making way too big of a deal about American Idiot. They’re just singing how they feel about things going on in the country. I agree with some of it and I disagree with some of it, but if the people complaining don’t like them, they don’t have to listen to them. They should just listen to whatever they like, nobody’s forcing them to listen to Green Day. I think they should just leave them alone altogether if they don’t like them.”

Beard, along with a very scarce amount of guitarists, practice Green Day’s music, and there are even people who have them to thank for inspiration to play. So anyone who says that the band hasn’t done anything for anyone is sorely mistaken.

Anyway, o information has yet been confirmed on the new title of their album, but internet sources such as Billboard Music have mentioned titles along the lines of either Cigars and Valentines (which was originally going to be released about 6 months earlier than American Idiot, but the disks were stolen so they made American Idiot instead), or Idiot’s Delight, the follow up to American Idiot.

Either way, the public who hasn’t turned on the punk rock band is eagerly looking forward to news pertaining to the new CD. Even those who dislike Green Day can still probably get a laugh or two from Bush rambling angrily about them in made-up words about their new album.
