Varsity boys’ dream this season was to go back to Arco Arena and win. Sadly they will have to forgo that dream for at least this season. “We didn’t seem that we wanted it bad enough this year,” said James Bolton.

Lincoln started the season out on the wrong foot. Pre-season games were difficult for the young Zebra team. The tournament they attended in Maui was a disappointment for the team as well.

The Zebras are shooting below 35% this season. That seems to be Lincoln’s only problem this year. Their defense is working hard, with all the extra height they have this year it helps with rebounds.

“We need to keep working on our effort on the court,” said Coach O’Connell. Two players that play hard and expect a lot of themselves are Eric Fernstrom and Jason Ragasoke.

The team is happy to have Mike LeBeau back but he is still recovering from a major injury. “He hasn’t been able to touch a ball since October, you can’t expect him to come out and be at 100% right away, but he’s getting there,” said O’Connell.

We’re definitely more of a team this year. Bad decisions… We work as a team we don’t have a star player…We can do what we can do. Mostly to do with the attitude of the players… James Bolton

Junior Varsity-

Thinking of making it to the championship … every time someone is down we push them to get stronger. Teamwork is strongest… We got to press the ball and move it up court and not slack off… We need to pressure the ball more on defense…watch weak side…
