This week the spotlight is on the local band named Gooser a band out of Vacaville, CA. There are four boys that make up this band are Tony Ricker - Lead Guitar, Dan Espinoza- Rhythm guitar and vocals, Joe Berry –Drums, and Seth Mattson who plays Bass Guitar.

Though a bond was formed by these four young friends, their musical persona also was formed. This persona then quickly developed into what is now an alternative hard rock, metal band that delivers an energetic collage of raw power; extremely catchy hooks/riffs, accompanied by tastefully done vocals courtesy of lead singer Dan Espinoza. The music: tight drumming; thumping bass; melodic grooves; sincere vocal melodies, and crunchy guitar riffs form the basis of their music. Pour on top layers of sheer attitude and innovation; and what do you get? You get the basic sound that describes this local band.

GoOser already has two recordings under their belt: a six-song demo they released locally in 2001, followed by the most recent release in September of 2004, a full-length, eleven-song CD entitled, "Don't Get Slapped". Currently the band is working on new material with an immediate goal to build a larger fan base; moreover, having people within the local music scene recognize their name. In addition to that, they have also set another goal within one year's time, to have "another full-length CD out to the public, and maybe be signed to an indie label"

Also, the band agreed as a whole that someday they would like to share the stage with their all-time favorite local band, Die Trying, who was recently signed on with Island Def Jam Records. Keep your sights set high boys; you definitely possess the talent to make that dream a reality someday soon.

“We had a great summer full of shows including the Sacramento stop of Warped Tour on the Ernie Ball stage. Thanks to everyone who made our summer shows so much fun in and around the Sacramento and Bay area of California. Look for the band to continue a heavy show schedule in and out of town - Be sure to check for a show in your area.” Quoted from a very energetic GoOser. They also make many appearances at The Underground Café in Roseville, CA. There next show there will be on February 5,2005, and its $8 to get in and the show starts at 7:30.
