The varsity volleyball team is off to a rough start this season. They’ve had some tough losses and some strong wins, but overall the team is staying together. Coach Retallack has faith that they can pull together and do better this season. “If we play the best that we can we can beat the two best teams”, said Retallack. The girls placed fifth last year, but hope to do better this year. “I’m hoping for third or higher”, said Captain Sarah Kratz.

The team has two sophomores, six juniors, and only four seniors; they have had a lot of returning players this season, which is good for the team’s chemistry. The girls have had some problems communicating on the court though, which has resulted in missed calls for the ball. There are six other teams beside Lincoln in the league and most of them are strong teams, Lincoln just has to be stronger. Can they do that?

Lincoln has strong players such as Tawni Humes, who has over a hundred assists, Katrina Haynie, who has over sixty digs, and Monique Frausto, who has over ten aces. They are all their league leaders in those respects, so why is the team losing?

The question that many are asking but it is up to the team to answer, so go out to a game to cheer on LHS Volleyball and maybe the school spirit will help them
