With spring break already gone, that just means that Prom is about a week or so away. By now most of us, girls should have a dress and hopefully a date. (If you don’t have a date, I heard Mrs. MacQueen is great at setting people up!) Guys, you should already have a tux and a date, if you don’t have a date ASK a girl!! I bet they will say yes, unless they are the stupid ones who don’t know what they want.

When the day of the dance comes around, I recommend bringing a camera to this special event, because then you can take pictures of you and your friends while making great memories that will last a lifetime.

The music is going to be a lot better than the Sadie Hawkins DJ. This time we are going back to our original DJ who played at this year’s Winter Ball.

For the girls that still don’t have a dress or don’t have a clue on where to go to buy a cheap, yet elegant prom dress, there are some great places that you can still go to buy one. If you’re looking for a dress, but don’t have the money to buy a $150 dress, raid the clearance racks at stores such as Macy*s or JC Penny’s. You can usually find a great deal on a dress, even the “princess” style dresses. Majority of the time the dresses are anywhere from 25-70% off. In which that is a great deal, especially if you don’t have the money to spend. Or if you want to go a little retro, you can always start hitting up in the thrift stores that are in the Roseville, Rio Linda, or any other store that resells barely worn clothing. You can usually find pretty good deals on dresses at thrift stores because of the fact that other people already have worn them.

As for guys and renting tuxedos, you can go to just about anywhere to rent them. The most common place to rent tuxes are at: The Men’s Warehouse and Gary’s Tuxedos. But, you can go to places inside Sears, JC Penny’s, or Macy’s. Remember guys, you should try and go in to rend your tux as soon as possible because it does take a couple of days for the tux store to get in the tux that you rented.

When it comes to places to eat for dinner on that glorious, fantastic evening, most people eat dinner before arriving at the dance. Keep in mind that not all places make reservations, so add that extra time into your waiting and eating dinner, when it comes to eating before the dance and making it to the dance on time. Some good places to go to for dinner on Prom night are: Cattleman’s, Beermans, Black Angus, P. F. Chang’s, Outback Steakhouse, Max’s Café, Hard Rock Café (in Sacramento), these are just a small handful of some places that you and your date can go to for dinner before the Prom.

Ok, just as a reminder the Prom is on April 24, 2004 and will be held at the Pavilion. Listen to the morning announcements to keep updated on any new information about prom i.e. the cost, time it starts/ends, picture sign-ups, etc.
