- In boys varsity bowling, Hoover lost to Perry 2774-2840 Jan. 18. The boys are 6-2 overall and 3-2 in the Federal League. Girls varsity played Perry Jan. 18 and won with a score of 2550-2385. The girls are 6-4 overall and 3-3 in the Federal League. Both teams will play in the sectional finals on Feb. 20.
- Boys varsity basketball suffered a close defeat to the McKinley Bulldogs 59-53 Jan. 15. Despite the loss at home, senior Tyler Fausnight had a career-high of 17 rebounds, which is the second most by a Viking during a single game. He scored 11 points with three steals and three blocked shots. The boys varsity basketball team would redeem themselves the next night at the Mercy Medical Center Classic at Hoover. They crushed the Cincinnati Withrow Tigers 69-46. Senior Cory Veldhuizen led the Vikings with 26 points. Their record is 9-1 overall and 3-1 in the Federal League.
- The girls varsity basketball team had two away games over the weekend. Jan. 16 they took on Cincinnati Sycamore at Pickerington Central and won 43-38. Jan. 18 they faced West Holmes at Berlin Hiland High School and crushed them 51-25. The girls are 10-3 overall and 2-1 in the Federal League.
