Boys XC
The boys cross country team won the Federal League Championship Oct. 17. The team finished with a score of 44 points, edging Perry with 46 and GlenOak with 48. Senior Tyler Stackpole and junior Alec Hernandez led the way for the Vikings finishing fourth and fifth. The district meet was held Oct. 24 at Malone University. The boys finished second behind GlenOak and advanced to regionals. Stackpole, Hernandez and junior Michael Kopko led the way for the Vikings, placing 11th, 12th and 14th. The regional meet was held at Boardman Oct. 31. The boys finished in fifth place in the meet, one spot short of qualifying for the state meet. Hernandez led the way, finishing in 22nd and senior Matt Roshak crossed next placing 35th. -Charles Dobry

Boys Soccer
The boys’ soccer team finished up the regular season with a record of 9-5-2. In late October, the boys began their playoff run as the fourth seed. First, they were successful in overtime against the Blue Streaks. The final score was 2-1. Juniors Andrew Tudosie scored first and Shawn Rambaud scored off of a penalty kick that ended the game in overtime. The Vikes played Kent Roosevelt. Rambaud scored the goal that tied the game 1-1, but they lost in a penalty kick shootout 8-7. -Clint Yoos
