Slick floors, nasty shoes and that unforgettable crash as the bowling ball slams into 10 pins.

This is Southeast Polk bowling at its finest.

According to quikstatsiowa.com, the boys’ bowling team has gone 6-0.

Currently at the top of the boys’ standings is senior Shawn Agan with an average of 222.4 points per game and a high game of 290.

At the top of the Ram girls’ charts is senior Justice Bendixen with a game average of 168.5 and a high game of 215 pins.

"We are very proud of our team and we always look forward to new members. My main goal for this season is to go to state and kick butt at tryouts next year," junior Courtney Brown said.

Currently, the girls’ team has a record of 3-3 and they say they are working really hard to do well this year.

Senior Ellen Barbaresso, who has a bowling average of 151.9 and a high game of 193, enjoys that she can hang out with her friends while she goes bowling.

"I would really like to get a 300 game. Especially because on my Saturday morning league you get a ring when you get a 300 game," Barbaresso said.

The state bowling tournament is in late February.

Certain members of the team are chosen to compete in each meet based on their performance during practices and previous meets; no one is guaranteed a varsity spot.

"The team hopes to do really well this season and pick up more members for next season," Brown said.

The bowling teams are coached by math teacher Jeff Hart.
