Whether it’s Harry Potter, a hot new toy or the latest installment in a favorite video game series, the release of anything entertainment-related is bound to leave teens up all night and red-eyed and cranky in the morning.
Such was the case as "Call of Duty: Black Ops" made the scene. It really is here, finally.
It is really melting some faces with its complex campaign mode and its extensive online play for both the XBOX 360, and the Playstation 3. Not to mention the return of zombies!
This game is nothing short of epic mixed with awesome, sprinkled with thrill. I couldn’t stop laughing on the first level; half the time I didn’t know what was going on with all the explosions and gunfire. The story line, if you choose to play campaign mode, is full of twists and will keep you interested to the end.
As good as this game is, it is not for the tender-hearted or the young. With unique ways of killing key protagonists and the F-bomb being dropped every third word, I would keep little brother or sister away.
You do have the option in the beginning to turn off the violent material, but that would really diminish the experience.
The Zombies mode is next to impossible but you can link up with friends online and team up against them. That is friend bonding at its best!
Online play for "Black Ops" is as good as "Modern Warfare." The only real difference is the level of customization on your character with everything from different types of weapons and costumes, to face paint and putting your clan tag on your guns.
To me this game was hyped and for good reason. The most anticipated game of the year is quickly turning into the greatest game of the year, depending on your tastes, of course.
But, if you get tired of playing "Fable 3" or "Assassins Creed: Brotherhood" one day, I would suggest poppin’ in some "Black Ops." It might turn out you like it just as much as I did.
I highly recommend that you get this game if you haven’t already; if you have, I am sure that you agree how great this game has turned out to be.
