The Airline Auditorium will be the location of the ninth annual production of Grease put on by Ms. Susan Hartsfield. Even though the senior production is not until October 6 and the underclassmen production is not until October 4, the cast started practices in August.
Both the senior and underclassmen Pink Ladies and T-Birds practice Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. All other cast members have practice from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. during the weeks leading up to their performance.
During each practice, the cast rehearses their scenes numerous times. The underclassmen are coached by both Ms. Hartsfield and the seniors.
Each play has an almost completely different cast. The senior production of Grease includes Kendrick Banks as Danny, Sarah McKinney as Sandy, Rachel Stevens, Stacey Gray, Lauren Tomlinson and Allyson Hardaway as Pink Ladies, and Kyle Smith, Jonathon Simonton, James Cook and Chris Martin as T-Birds.
The underclassmen cast is Kendrick Banks as Danny, Darien Jones as Sandy, Brittainy Williams, Brooke Carrier, Caroline Nawas and Brittany Bodden as Pink Ladies, and Bo Harris, Matt Ducharme, Alex Bond and Robbie Dean as T-Birds.
“It titillates me to know I can accept such a big role,” said Senior Kendrick Banks who plays Danny in both the senior and underclassmen production.
The play starts at 7:00 p.m., and tickets are only $5. This money goes toward cosmetics for the cast, new props each year, scripts for the senior play and spotlights.
“This year’s Grease performance will be the best ever,” said Sophomore Matt Ducharme.
