The De La Salle boys soccer team was undefeated in the BVAL, until they played Clayton Valley on Jan. 20.

The game ended in a 1-1 tie. Marc Avanessian scored the tying goal off a penalty kick in the first half, just two minutes after DLS scored.

The second half went scoreless as CV goalie Dan Gentry made seven saves.

Gentry said CV had a lot of breakaway opportunities, but not a lot of shots.

CV lost to DLS 3-1 on Dec. 14. Gentry said the difference between the two games was that CV came out harder in the second half this time.

The Eagles have won their last six games, four of which were shutouts. CV has a 4-2-2 record in league play.
